Wicomico Goes Purple to Hold Press Release & Purple Puppy Parade at 3rd Friday

Wicomico Goes Purple will promote conversations around the dangers of substance use and abuse and encourage both the community and our youth to take a stand against it, while recognizing the accomplishments of those in recovery ad education the community on available treatment and recovery services.
  • The Wicomico Goes Purple initiative will host a Purple Puppy Parade and an inaugural Wicomico Goes Purple press conference starting at 5:00 PM on June 21, 2019.
  • These events will coincide with 3rd Friday on the Downtown Plaza.
  • The press conference will begin at 5:30 PM and features Wicomico Goes Purple Honorary Co-Chairs, States Attorney Jaime Dykes and Wicomico Sheriff Mike Lewis. They will be on hand to formally announce this initiative and answer questions from the media.
  • In addition, announcements will include the multitude of events associated with the initiative that are scheduled throughout the summer and into September, which is National Recovery Month.
