In celebration of Recovery Month, The Recovery Resource Center will once again host its “Lighting Up Recovery Breakfast” fundraiser on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Dove Pointe, 1225 Mt. Hermon Road, Salisbury, MD. Doors will open at 6:30 a.m. and Jerry Fletcher’s Catering will serve breakfast at 7am. Guests will be greeted by the music of “Such Fools”, with musicians Mickey Justice, Todd Smith, and Dick Morris. Keynote Speaker is Susan Broderick, Project Director at Georgetown University, National Juvenile Justice Prosecution Center and Andre Henry, of Salisbury, MD will share his experience in recovery, “From a Mess to a Miracle.”
Recovery Resource Center’s mission is to support individuals on the journey of Recovery, which it has been doing for 27 years. Currently, it is home to 36 different 12 Step Meetings every week and is open 365 days/year. RRC offers workshops, trainings, education, and social events for the Recovery Community, including Narcan and CPR trainings, parenting classes, stress management workshops, and workshops to explore educational opportunities for sustained recovery. All workshops are provided at no cost, although pre-registration is required. The funds raised through the Breakfast will support the continued work of RRC, where there is help, there is hope, and it’s free.
The RRC, is a fully incorporated non-profit corporation has been a partner agency of the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore since 1996 and receives support and training from the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore.
