A hearing has been scheduled on 2/16 for House Bill 375, legislation that would establish a Family & Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) Program to be administered under the supervision of the Department of Labor’s Unemployment Insurance (UI) Division. The Maryland Chamber is very concerned that the implementation of this legislation will result in additional costs and administrative burden to employers, especially small businesses and non-profits, at a time when they can least afford it.
TELL YOUR LEGISLATORS THAT NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO IMPLEMENT A COSTLY, NEW EMPLOYER MANDATE AS BUSINESSES STRUGGLE TO OVERCOME A GLOBAL PANDEMIC. ACT NOW AND URGE YOUR LEGISLATORS TO OPPOSE HOUSE BILL 375.
