Over 7,000 Hours Will Be Recognized at Ward Museum Volunteer Appreciation Picnic.
The Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art, Salisbury University, will honor the contributions of its dedicated volunteers at a reception and dinner on September 16, 2014, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Over 7,000 volunteer hours were given to the museum this year.
The Ward Museum will highlight all 35 volunteers who contributed over 100 hours throughout the past year. The top 3 volunteers who gave the most of their time will be additionally honored. The volunteers who have contributed the most hours are Jo Ann Wilber with 452 hours, Walt McCabe with 309 hours and Ann Suthowski with 253 hours.
The Ward Museum volunteer pool takes on every type of project, including gallery tours, greeting visitors, mailing committees, events support, education programs, and grounds keeping. Every day of the year someone is sharing their time with the Ward Museum to make a major destination for the region.
Preceding the Volunteer Appreciation Picnic will be the dedication of the Victor Oristano meeting room starting at 3:00 p.m. and will be the unveiling of the donated osprey carving created by Marguerite “Peggy” Jahn.
