Zach Piern, a senior at Washington College in Chestertown, MD is spending his summer participating in a 9-week internship program with local insurance broker RPS ISG international. Piern will work in all facets of the operation to gain expertise in both the insurance and sales industries.
“The program serves as a unique way for promising students to have a valuable opportunity in the insurance business by working firsthand alongside experienced professionals.” said RPS ISG International Area President Steve Robinson. “It’s also a way for us to see if they would be a good fit for a career in the industry, and allows us to gain perspective on some things in our daily operations that could use improvement.”
Piern added the internship is “an opportunity to gain experience in both insurance and sales in general. I get to learn how the business works from a lot of different angles, and everyone at RPS really goes out of their way to make sure that I’m getting the most out of my time here.”
Piern lives in Mount Vernon, MD and is a Business Management major with a minor in Psychology at Washington College. In his spare time he enjoys spending time boating with his friends and family.
